Some of today's readings

This BBC article describes the exceptionally positive economic performance of Texas, although different perspectives are also present.

Rodrik's making room for China in the world economy shows that industrial-promotion, echoing Arthur Lewis's theories, are well alive in the economic development debate. It is a very interesting reading on China exchange rate. However, Rodrik makes the very strong assumption that industrial policies work independently of the institutional framework.

The Popol Vuh (which I read a long time ago, but this time I am doing an "institutional-theory" reading).
