Interesting research of the day

  1. China is not embracing capitalism (?!). The government is not. Chinese entrepreneurs really are.
  2. In Mexico, "the growth 1950–1981 was driven by urbanization, industrialization, and education." "Mexico would have grown even more rapidly if trade and investment had been liberalized sooner."
  3. The Narrowing North-South Differences in Gdp/Capita.
  4. How to foster innovation in the US - interview with Alex Tabarrok. This brought to mind this very good paper by Julio Cole.
