In the tradition of Growing Artificial Societies this new paper argues:
Agent-based simulation approach allows entrepreneurship researchers to act as the designer to find better ways in generating entrepreneurial outcomes by understanding alternative histories and examining plausible future. More powerful personal computer technologies, ready-to-use software like NetLogo, and a roadmap to doing agent-based simulation approach as proposed offer creative-minded researchers a new lens to advance the field of entrepreneurship.
The paper is "Growing Artificial Entrepreneurs: Advancing Entrepreneurship Research Using Agent-Based Simulation Approach" (April 2012). Yang and Chandra are the authors.
I am skeptical. Intuition, alertness, discovery . . . how to program that? Who knows, it might be possible in the future.
