Bringing science and technology to the poor

I am amazed by the work of the "Barefoot College." It is a school in India that offers instruction on sustainable agriculture, solar energy, craft making, and others, to relatively poor people (who usually have not had formal education, some of the students are illiterate). It even brigs to the school women from other parts of the world, such as Bolivia or Namibia.
