My September 11

Think Progress posted her September 11, mine:

I was just out of college, was working for a commercial bank in Guatemala and was on my way to Chisec, a municipality in northern Guatemala (some pics here). We were driving and heard the news on the radio. I called the market risk manager of the bank to hear his thoughts. He said something like this: "the markets are gonna go down, after that I don't really know but it is going to be pretty serious." When we got to our hotel we saw the towers coming down. The bank went bankrupt two years after, partially as a consequence of the crisis.
