Experiments with Truth

Haiti has given me some time to read. Lack of electricity is the main reason. I just finished two books on the lives of influential persons who have characteristics in common.
Gandhi An Autobiography was refreshing. Some of his actions were bizarre to say the least. But Gandhi was extremely smart. He was wise to pick his battles. By the end of the book he argues that Truth is God. Gandhi was influenced by the thinking of another great man, Henry David Thoreau. I read a little book on Thoreau (now out of print). It was probably written for kids but it gives a good portrait of Thoreau's life and search for truth and authenticity.
